Doha British School Senior Leadership
I qualified with a BA Hons degree in Economics in 1982 and did a Post Graduate Certificate in Education immediately thereafter to become a qualified teacher. I taught up to A Level in schools and Sixth Form Colleges before moving to Qatar in 1995 to become Head of Economics and Business at Doha College. I moved up quite quickly to become Head of Sixth Form, then Assistant Head before Acting Principal in 2005. I left Doha College in 2007 to take up a position as Headteacher at the International School Sao Lourenco in Portugal. After 4 years there I returned to Doha to take up the position of Principal at Doha British School.
I really enjoy being Principal at DBS where our core purpose is to ensure that every student gets as much from us as possible. I am enthused by the wonderful atmosphere at the school. We have a dedicated, industrious and professional teaching staff. We have very supportive parents and excellent pupils. As a British school operating in an international setting DBS strives to offer the very best of British education and provide opportunities for students to develop their talents and to discover new ones.

After graduating from John Moores University, Liverpool I started my teaching career in a large Grammar school in Lincolnshire. Since then I have taught and held senior leadership positions in a range of different schools both in the UK and abroad. The new, exciting challenges and opportunities that Doha British School presented were too good to walk away from. I am relishing the opportunity to work with the DBS team to equip the students with a lifelong love of learning and intellectual curiosity that will allow them to thrive within a dynamic global environment. I am very excited to be joining DBS this September 2016 as Vice Principal and look forward to providing the students with the skills, inspiration, opportunities and confidence to be the best they can be.
