Online advice for parents
The Topmarks site offers series of articles and videos aimed at parents. They give advice about how you can help your child in positive ways and support them in their education. The articles emphasise encouragement and enjoyment in learning. Resources cover learning through play; early literacy and numeracy; listening to your child read; helping with homework and how to support learning during the long summer break.
Mathszone offers interactive Maths resources that cover a wide range of Maths topics for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Math Playground has Maths games and learning activities arranged by topic. It also features Maths ‘thinking games’ that lead learners to problem solve using mathematical skills.
NRICH covers both Primary and Secondary Maths, giving problems to ‘get your teeth into’.
Oswego games are particularly good for younger learners who are practising number sequences, mental maths and learning to tell the time.
The Maths Games site is a collection of games from many sources, covering many mathematical areas and Primary age groups.
