The Head of Secondary will:
- Support the Principal in the provision of high caliber strategy matched with the delivery of appropriate, effective practice;
- Support the framing and communication of the shared vision for the school which will be built upon the creation and delivery of a learning and achievement culture;
- Support the Principal in developing and implementing strategies to secure high expectations and standards;
- Make a leading and significant contribution to the development of effective school policy, structures and practice which support the achievement of the school’s ambitions;
- Develop high excellence in leadership and learning at all levels;
- Make a leading and significant contribution to the development and implementation of processes, including CPD which support high quality learning and teaching in the school;
- As a lead learner monitor, develop, review and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across designated subject areas;
- Assist in the implementation of a whole school planning and self-review process which monitors, evaluates and reviews the outcomes of whole school policy, prioritizes targets and drives action planning. For example, the School Improvement Plan and Subject Area Improvement Plans.
- Lead, support and oversee the work for those within Line management responsibilities;
- Contribute to the quality of relationships at all levels in the school;
- Contribute to developing effective behavior management strategies which are reflected in high standards of self-discipline and behavior;
- Maintain a visible and positive profile with colleagues, staff, students and parents;
- Lead, develop and monitor teams as appropriate and their work in pursuit of the school’s aims;
- Promote the school to parents, stakeholders and the internal community;

- Staffing Needs Analysis;
- Accreditation Processes;
- Curriculum Development and Planning;
- Examination Results Analysis;
- Line Management Secondary SLT.
